Who We Are:
The Bharatiya Bailgada Racing Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to the revival and responsible management of India's rich rural traditions. We believe that cultural practices like bullock cart racing are not only a source of community pride but also an integral part of our national identity. Our work is guided by a commitment to three core principles: the preservation of cultural heritage, the promotion of animal welfare, and the conservation of India's native livestock breeds.
Research, Preservation, and Promotion of Indian Breeds:
India is home to a magnificent diversity of cattle breeds, many of which are endangered. We are committed to their preservation and improvement. Through collaboration with leading agricultural universities and research institutions, we conduct scientific research focused on the genetic improvement, disease resistance, and productivity of native livestock. We aim to establish a genetic bank or breeding center to ensure the propagation of rare Indian breeds. By organizing breed shows and competitions, we showcase the unique characteristics of these animals, encouraging their adoption and preservation among farmers. We also provide technical expertise and resources to help farmers with selective breeding programs, thereby improving the quality and genetic diversity of their livestock for the benefit of all.
Cultural Heritage and Rural Sports:
We serve as the primary organizing body for bullock cart racing events, ensuring they are conducted with fairness, safety, and respect for tradition. Our efforts go beyond just organizing races; we are committed to nurturing the next generation of participants by establishing training facilities and academies for various traditional rural sports. We aim to educate the public on the historical and cultural significance of these practices through workshops, seminars, and exhibitions. By collaborating with local communities and government bodies, we work to identify, preserve, and promote other indigenous sports, meticulously documenting their history and rules for future generations.
